Projects

See every project and how it fits together.

A project is a folder with a Docker Compose file. FlatRun draws its services, their databases, storage and domains, and the projects they depend on, so the whole server reads at a glance.

Open source, MIT licensed · Runs on any Linux server with Docker

Sound familiar?

A server full of containers tells you nothing about the apps on it.

docker ps lists containers, not products. Which database belongs to which app, what talks to what, and which domain points where lives in someone's head until it is drawn.

How it works

Three steps, on a server you control.

  1. 01

    Point at a compose file

Paste one, pick a template, use an image, or connect a repository. The project becomes a folder you can read.

  2. 02

    See its services

Each service shows its state, image, volumes and domain, joined to the services it depends on.

  3. 03

    Work across projects

Switch between canvas, cards and table, search any project, page or action, and add a staging environment beside production.

Before you get started.

Is a project just Docker Compose?

Yes. Each project is a directory with a standard docker-compose.yml and its data beside it. It runs without FlatRun.

Can a project reference another?

Yes. A variable can read another project's variable, and the canvas draws that link.
